Overview

B.Ed. is an undergraduate academic course known as Bachelor of Education. Previously it was known as Bachelor of Training (BT). It is a course offered for the individuals who are keen on seeking after profession in teaching and related fields. Also referred as Bachelor in Education or in some universities as  its duration generally lasts 2 years. Bachelor of Education Course can likewise be sought after through Correspondence or Distance Learning which is generally of 2 Years duration. While students from Arts Stream are trained to teach subjects like History, Civics, Geography and Languages. The students from Science Stream are trained to teach Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The B.Ed. degree course is compulsory for teaching in higher primary schools and high schools. National Council for Teacher Education is statutory body which manage courses in teaching in India. The B.Ed. degree is required for teaching in higher elementary schools and secondary schools.

Any scholar, who desires to make a career in the field of teaching, has to go through the procedure of studying all the important aspects of training. One have to pursue the course in order to be eligibile for teaching at high school level. 

This course demands students to be vocal and fluent in their speech. They should also be excellent at problem-solving since teaching at high school level is a completely challenging job.

Courses & Eligibility

The Eligibility for pursuing B.ed. are as follows:

  • Applicant should have completed graduation in any of Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of science (B. Sc.) or Bachelor in commerce (B. Com.) from a recognized university
  • A minimum aggregate score of 50% in graduation
  • A minimal aggregate score of 55% at post-graduate level
