Fashion Design course focuses on providing in-depth knowledge of design.

The artwork of applying design, creativity and natural beauty to clothes and lifestyle accessories is called as Fashion Design. Motivated by using various social and cultural attitudes, fashion design continually progresses over time and from area to area. Putting into use the knowledge in this area, unique types of clothes and adornments are designed. Modern fashion design can be categorized into different classes which include ready to put on (for masses, standard sized) and haute couture (for specific clients, custom sized).

Courses & Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for Fashion Design Course is not typical. There is no specific requirement of 10+2 pass candidate in any particular stream. The eligibility requirements are:

  • Diploma in fashion design: 10+2 (Arts, commerce, science) /P.U.C./Polytechnic/equivalent with 45% marks in aggregate (40% is enough for SC/ST applicants)
  • Reputed institutes like NIFT/ NID pick out applicants on the basis of entrance examination
  • Post Graduate programme in apparel design from NID: Any graduation
