About Exam

International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad Post Graduate Entrance Exam is the entrance exam that is organized to provide the admissions in the M.Tech courses, PG diploma and Ph.D. programmes in IIIT, Hyderabad. It is the PG entrance exam which is organized via the IIIT, Hyderabad every year in the month of April. International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad Post Graduate Entrance Exam is conducted for admission into Postgraduate and Research programs.

Eligibility

Before filling the application form, all of the applicants were advised to check the full IIITH PGEE Eligibility Criteria.

Applicants who do not meet the eligibility criteria will not be allowed to attempt the examination.

The eligibility criteria for the exam is as follows:

  • The applicants should have completed their B.E./B.Tech in Engineering (any branch including CS/IT/ECE/EEE/Civil/Instrumentation/Biotechnology) or B.Arch

OR

  • Master’s degree in Science/Maths/IT/Computer Science

OR

  • Applicants who have qualified MCA programmes

Application Fees

 The fee structure and mode of payment for this exam are as follows:

  • The applicants have to pay an amount of INR 2000+ INR 50 (for every additional course)
  • Mode of Payment: Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking

Application Procedure

The procedure of How to Apply for the exam is given here:

  • Applicants had to register themselves. Personal information such as the applicant’s name, parent’s name, gender, address, mobile number, and email address had to be submitted for registration. The applicants also had to create a password of their choice. After submission, an OTP was sent to the registered email id of the applicants.
  • Fill the required details in the main application form.
  • Then, upload the resume and photograph.
  • Check the details and submit the application form.
  • After the final submission, the applicant will be directed to the payment page where the applicant will choose the payment gateway and do the final payment.
  • After paying the fee, the applicant will receive the payment acknowledgment slip.
  • The applicant can pay the fee via net banking/ credit card/ debit card.

Exam Pattern

Details of the pattern of the exam are given below:

  • There are two papers namely: General Aptitude and Subject paper.
  • The time limit to solve the exam paper is 3 hours.
  • No marks will be deducted for the wrong answers.
  • Type of Questions -  Paper I – Objective, Paper II – Objective and Subjective

Q. Where can I get the application form?

A. There is no separate application form needed. All candidates have to register and apply through PG Admissions portal. More information about the programme can be obtained from the official website.

 

Q. Should Computational Linguistics applicants write the PG Entrance Examination?

A. For applicants from Linguistics and languages background entering into M.Tech, Ph.D. in linguistics programmes, there will be a separate exam for Linguistics at IIIT, Hyderabad in the last week of June.

 

Q. I am a final year BE/B.Tech student. Am I eligible to write PGEE?

A. Yes, You are eligible to write PGEE.

 

Q.  I did 3 years diploma course and then did graduation. Where can I enter my diploma score?

A. You can enter your diploma score/percentage in place of 12th.

 

Q.  I am holding a Bachelor of Information technology/science. Am I eligible?

A. Yes, you are eligible. Kindly check the eligibility criteria at the official website.

 

Q. I did not qualify GATE. Can I apply for this exam?

A. Yes, you can.

Cut-Offs

Higher officials will release IIITH PGEE Cut Off Marks based on few issues.

The issues are such as the number of applicants applied and appeared for the entrance exam, category wise, the number of seats is available, the toughness of IIITH Post Graduate Entrance Examination and Previous year analysis. Based on the IIITH PGEE Cut Off Marks results are announced.

Aspirants who grab minimum cut off marks in IIITH Post Graduate Entrance Examination they enter into counseling. To filter applicants who applied for IIITH PGEE Test they have to get minimum cut off marks in Entrance Exam. If the applicant could not get minimum cut off marks they are not entered into counseling. Applicants who get cut off marks in IIITH Post Graduate Entrance Examination they reach next process.

The procedure of selection for this exam is mentioned below: 

  • All applicants should comply with the academic qualification and eligibility criteria set via the Institute for admission to M.Tech Programme.
  • IIIT Hyderabad conducts merit-based admissions that are evaluated according to the score of applicants in PGEE test.
  • Applicants who efficiently qualify the exam are called for interview and counseling round via the Institute.
