Common-Law Admission(CLAT) Test held by The Consortium of NLUs is expected on May 24, 2020. The admit card for the CLAT 2020 examination is expected to be released in the 1st or 2nd week of May. In past years, the CLAT admit card was usually released 13-23 days before the exam; therefore, it is likely to be released by May 11, 2020, this year. Students can download the hall ticket online from consortiumofnlus.ac.in by logging in with mobile number and password.

CLAT 2020: Admit Card Download dates

The dates of releasing the admit card for the CLAT examination are never announced beforehand. However, in the past five years, the CLAT admit cards by the Consortium of NLUs have been released 2-3 weeks before the exam date. According to that, the expected date of issuance of admit card can be any date between May 3 to 11, 2020, that is maximum by May 11, 2020.

Admit card acts as an entry ticket on the day of the examination, which is why it is necessary to carry it positively. Candidates can download CLAT 2020 admit card as per schedule at consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

**Important Note: If the candidates are unable to download the CLAT 2020 admit card, then, they can contact at 080 47162020 or can e-mail at clat@consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

Along with the printed copy of the CLAT 2020 admit card, the candidates need to carry the following things on the day of examination.

  • A valid photo id proof
  • Black / Ballpoint pen
  • Some passport size photographs

The candidates are not allowed to carry any textual material or electronic items like mobile phones, electronic watches, calculators, log tables, etc

CLAT 2020: Examination
Common-Law Admission Test is an entrance exam conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities for admission in UG and PG law courses. All the NLUs use CLAT score to grant admission, other than NLU Delhi, which conducts All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) to fill seats.

CLAT 2020: Examination Pattern, Subjects & Criteria
For UG Course-

  1. Exam Pattern is as follows-
  • Duration: The duration of the exam is 150 minutes
  • Type of questions: There are multiple-choice questions
  • Total marks: The maximum marks if 150 marks
  • Marking scheme: +1 for the correct answers. There is a negative marking of -0.25 marks in case of the wrong answer

2.Eligibility Criteria-

Age limit No upper age limit for candidates who wish to apply for CLAT 2020.

Qualification – Candidates must have completed 10+2 from a recognized board. The percentage of candidates in the qualifying examination should be as follows:

  • 45% marks – for General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI candidates.
  • 40% marks – for SC / ST candidates.

Candidates studying in 10+2 can also apply. However, they need to submit a mark sheet during the time of admission. These candidates should fulfill the eligibility criteria at the time of admission.

3.Subjects-

  • English Language   
  • Quantitative Techniques
  •  Logical Reasoning             
  •  Legal Reasoning
  •  Current Affairs

For PG Course

  1. Exam pattern is as follows-
  • Duration: The duration is 2 hours
  • Type of questions: Multiple-choice questions and subjective questions
  • Negative Marking: There is a negative marking of -0.25 marks in case of wrong answers

Distribution of questions: There are 100 multiple choice questions of 01 mark each and two essay type of questions of 50 marks each.

2. Eligibility Criteria-

Age limit Again, there is no age limit for CLAT PG 2020 as well.

Qualification – Candidate must have completed LL.B Degree or an equivalent examination from a recognized university, which minimum of below-given marks:

  • 55% marks – for General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI candidates.
  • 50% marks – for SC / ST candidates.

Candidates appearing for final year examination can also apply.

3. Subjects-

  • Constitutional Law
  • Other Law Subjects such as Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, IPR and Jurisprudence.

CLAT 2020: Application Process
The application form of CLAT 2020 is only available on the official website. To apply, candidates need to visit consortiumofnlus.ac.in or click on “Don’t have an account? Register”. Following this, a registration form for CLAT 2020 opens and in it, candidates have to enter following details:

  • Name
  • Mobile Number
  • Password
  • Confirm Password

Once all the details are submitted, candidates get an OTP in the mobile number and with the help of it, they can log in and enter details and images in the application form.

CLAT 2020: Application Fee 
 The students need to pay the below-given application fee to submit the application form successfully:

Mode of Payment: The amount of application fee can only be paid online, via below given medium

  • Net banking

If you want to have the previous year question paper of CLAT 2020, then you have to pay an extra amount of Rs. 500 with the application fee.

CLAT 2020: Answer Key
After some time the officials release the provisional answer key of CLAT 2020 for candidates to evaluate their score before the result. The answer key is released at the official website of CLAT 2020. Now to check their course candidates need to know the marking scheme and question paper. If candidates found any mistake in the answer key they can raise an objection about it at the official website. After that, the board will release a final answer key with the rectified answers.

 CLAT 2020: Cut Off
Each NLUs releases its opening and closing ranks for admission. Candidates can check the last year cutoff ranks for all the NLUs from the table below :

CLAT 2020: Result
Based on the final answer key, the CLAT result is prepared. The result for CLAT is released on the official website. To check the score, students are presented two options first with their student’s login and second with by adding application number and date of birth. Candidates can download their scorecard from any of this login. After this, the merit list for seat allocation is released by the universities. Based on the choices made by students at the time of filling the application form. To secure their seats, candidates have to pay the counseling fee of Rs. 50.000/-
