Post 10th standard; all the students arrive at a stage where we have to take a stream that will determine our profession and ultimately for the rest of our lives. Many of the students choose Physics, Chemistry, and Maths (PCM); some so many people decide physics, chemistry, and biology and pursue a profession in the medical field. Like engineering, the center domain also provides many areas to the students. We are selecting the right course after 12th is significant because a well-thought decision can lead to a bright future. It is challenging to choose one from many options because there are so many good options that are appropriate for students.
Subjects such as physics, chemistry, and biology (PCB), students can choose who are aspiring to take up careers in medicine or dental studies, biochemistry, biotechnology, microbiology, etc. There are many options which are also available in the paramedical and allied fields such as Nursing, Audiology, Speech Therapy, Medical Lab Technology, Optometry, Nutrition and Dietetics, Pharmacy, etc. for those who are interested in Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science can choose up a career as a veterinary doctor. To become a veterinary doctor, you have to appear for the entrance examination conducted by the Veterinary Council of India for getting admission to a first-year Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry.
Those who have to choose bio-math in 2+ can choose their careers in engineering or bio. To get admission to this profession is through entrance examination. And If not interested in the engineering and medical field, 10+2 science students can go for B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science) Program of their choice, which can be followed by a Master’s degree (M.Sc.), Ph.D., and M.Phil. Teaching is another option.
Here we have listed different possible career options if you have chosen PCB.
The most common career option for the students opting for PCB streams is to become a doctor. The first necessity to become a doctor is to clear NEET and the state medical entrance exam and fix a seat in the medical college. The undergraduate program- MBBS (Bachelors of Medicine and Bachelors of Surgery), BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) and BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) are of 5 years. After completion of this, students can opt for postgraduate.
Dentistry is a medicine branch that deals explicitly with the oral cavity. For this, students need to clear NEET/ and or the state medical entrance exams and reserve a seat in a medical college. The undergraduate program BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) is of 5 years. After completion, the student can opt for postgraduate studies for their specialization.
Pharmacists/chemists/druggists are healthcare professionals who practiced in pharmacy. This field focuses on safe and effective medication use. The student must obtain a B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy) degree at a pharmacy school or related institution.
Biological Sciences deals with the study of living things and encompasses topics such as Cell Biology, Neuroscience, Evolutionary Biology, and Ecology. A student can also start on a professional, scientific, or technical career after completing their graduation. They can also choose for further studies such as a research doctorate or a postgraduate course in an applied field.
Biomedical Engineering (BME) is the approach of engineering principles and design concepts to medicine and biology for healthcare purposes. Students who want to pursue this field must have a Master’s (M.S., M. Tech, M.S.E., or M. Eng.) or a Doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in BME (Biomedical Engineering) or another branch of engineering with substantial potential for BME overlap.
Nursing is a profession in the health care sector that focuses on the care of patients. A student will have to obtain a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), a four-year undergraduate degree. High-quality education at the graduate level is for specialization as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) or advanced roles in leadership, management, or education.
