CBSE To Train Schools On Restructured Affiliation Process

The Central Board of Secondary Education is organizing webinars and online training sessions for schools under the newly restructured affiliation system. According to the CBSE, the webinar is being conducted to familiarize schools with the new process and resolve queries.

The online registration process for the webinar would be opened from March 1 to 8 at cbse.gov.in. The webinar would begin on March 9.

The CBSE, in a release mentioned, the online affiliation training session for approval of middle-class syllabus, secondary level, and senior secondary level would be conducted from March 9 to 10, upgradation of affiliation to secondary and senior secondary level on March 12, and extension of affiliation of applications on March 13. The webinars would be held from 11 AM to 1 PM and 2 to 4 PM.

The application for affiliation would be accepted tentatively from March 16.

The affiliation system has been restructured as per various recommendations for systemic reforms laid down in the new National Education Policy (NEP). As per the revised timeline, every year, the application window for new affiliation and upgradation of affiliation will open three times -March 1 to 31, June 1 to 30, and September 1 to 30, CBSE in its notification mentioned.

“The board is restructuring the affiliation system and process as per recommendations of education reforms in the NEP. Although the CBSE affiliation system has been online since 2006, the restructured system will be completely digital and based on data analytics with the least human intervention,” CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathi had earlier said.

“The restructuring will help in establishing ease of doing business in the CBSE affiliation system, attaining the goal of minimum government, maximum governance, automated and data-driven decisions, achieve transparency, bring more accountability in the entire systemic processes and achieve quick and time-bound disposal of all applications,” Mr. Tripathi added.

CBSE has also revised timelines for the application process as per the restructured system. As per the revised timeline, the application window for new affiliation and upgradation of affiliation would open three times – from March 1 to 31, from June 1 to 30, and from September 1 to 30.

The board is also planning to set up a facilitation center to address queries and problems of schools and inspection committees related to the virtual inspection.
